Mmm, flavored butters are so delicious and easy to make. You've got to try it! Honey butter on fresh, hot rolls or cornbread... cinnamon sugar butter on hot toast... it makes my mouth water.
Ingredients for Honey Butter
1 cup Butter
1 cup Honey
(You want a 1:1 ratio of each.)
Directions
1. Soften the butter - I use the microwave. You want to be able to make a dent in the butter when you press your finger into it.
2. Add honey to the butter whip the ingredients together until fluffy. You don't need any fancy equipment - I used a fork.
3. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate.
I made cornbread muffins and topped them with honey butter for last year's Thanksgiving - it was delicious!
Ingredients for Sugar Cinnamon Butter
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 tablespoon sugar
1/3 teaspoon cinnamon
(Enough for 2 slices of toast.)
Directions
1. Melt the butter, sugar and cinnamon together. You can dissolve it over a pan, or microwave it like I did.
2. Stir the melted butter and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes or so if you want to eat it soon. Otherwise, you can put it in the fridge. If you make more than 1 tbsp of butter, you'll have to let it cool for longer. Once the butter is almost hardened, take it out and mix.
3. Serve, or cover and refrigerate.
Perfect for pancakes, hot rolls (cinnamon rolls!) or good ol' toast and tea. :)
